Four-star forward Quinn Costello commits to Michigan

December 18, 2025 by Zags Blog

Following a breakout summer in which he emerged into one of the country’s rapid stock risers, Class of 2026 Middlesex Magic and Newman School (MA) forward Quinn Costello has committed to Michigan.

A 6-foot-10, 195-pound floor spreader with considerable range and augmented toughness, Costello chose the Wolverines over North Carolina, Michigan State, Purdue, Texas, and Minnesota.

“I really enjoyed the coaching staff,” Costello said after making his commitment official on Tuesday afternoon.

“I was able to build a great relationship with Coach (Dusty) May. I think he will really set me up for success. The system really fits my style of play. On top of that, they are one of the best schools in the country academically.”

Costello seized the hot hand during NBPA Top 100 Camp and never squandered it this past summer.

He shot 13 for 27 from 3-point territory during NBA Top 100 Camp, also registering his lob finishing presence throughout the event.

Costello’s display of catch and fire prowess from long range was also evident on the UAA circuit this summer.

Before an array of coaches in a standing room only environment, Costello turned in a game-best 23 points and grabbed six boards, catapulting the Middlesex Magic to a thorough 66-42 throttling of Atlanta XPress at the Lake Point Indoor Pavilion.

He stuck three consecutive three-pointers during the first half and had several soaring, above rim finishes through traffic throughout.

“I feel like I’ve always been known to have a high ceiling,” Costello said after that performance.

“To have high potential. Now I am starting to really see the confidence come into it. It’s been great. I’ve been in the gym a ton with my high school coach (at The Newman School) the last couple of months.”

Beyond his ramped up work rate, Costello said the structured and disciplined environment fostered by the Middlesex Magic enabled him to thrive.

He commits to Michigan one day after his slick passing Middlesex Magic teammate, Class of 2026 guard Ryan Moesch, committed to Siena.A Medford, Mass. native, Costello’s game was cloaked in relative obscurity prior to this titanic summer shot making spree.

Once a seldom-used freshman at Boston College HS in Dorchester, Mass., Costello went from unranked to a Top-50 national talent in a short period of time.

He enters his senior year at Newman as a foundational inside-outside presence alongside reigning Class AAA NEPSAC Player of the Year Lucas Morillo, a highly coveted 6-foot-6 guard.
