If Jim Harbaugh has a chance to add a former Michigan player to the Los Angeles Chargers, he’s going to take it. And that’s exactly what happened this Wednesday afternoon.
Moments ago, it was announced that running back Hassan Haskins was claimed off waivers by the Chargers.
Haskins started his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans in 2022. He was selected in the fourth round of the draft.
The Titans waived Haskins before Tuesday’s deadline for the 53-man roster. Clearly, it didn’t take long for him to find a new home.
Haskins, a former All-Big Ten running back, played for Michigan from 2018-2021. He was coached by Harbaugh all four years.
Now, Haskins will have the chance to once again play for Harbaugh.
Haskins was truly a difference-maker for the Wolverines, rushing for 2,324 yards and 30 touchdowns.
In the NFL, however, Haskins has just 93 career rushing yards on 25 carries. He was placed on the Commissioner Exempt List in August 2023 due to a domestic dispute.
It’s possible that a reunion with Harbaugh is exactly what Haskins needs to get back on track. He’ll compete with Gus Edwards, J.K. Dobbins and Kimani Vidal for snaps.
