It was another exciting one. At times, perhaps even too exciting for the No. 24 Michigan men’s basketball team. But with another win in the books, the Wolverines can breathe a sigh of relief after an up-and-down contest against Oregon.
Facing up against a “desperate” team, as Michigan coach Dusty May described, the Wolverines avoided a Ducks bounce-back game and sent Oregon spiraling into its fourth-consecutive loss. UM Hoops has five major takeaways defining another narrow win in yet another contest with a little bit of everything.
Danny Wolf back to full form
Averaging just 6.3 points against Purdue, Northwestern and Penn State, junior forward Danny Wolf had hit a brief rough patch. Now though, that nine day stretch seems firmly in the rearview mirror. After a nice bounce-back affair in Piscataway last week, Wolf doubled down on his recent success.
Posting a double-double in 33 minutes, Wolf constantly had his imprint on the contest. From quiet rebounds late in the contest, to a loud turnaround snatch back 3-pointer with the shot clock expiring.
“He’s a talented player,” May said postgame. “His ability to pass, dribble, shoot, he made some big threes. And I think once his finishing around the rim, once he starts to get confidence in it, I think it’s just going to add another dimension to his game.”
