It won’t count in the history books, but there was plenty on display for the Michigan men’s basketball team in their 44-point trouncing of Oakland University at Little Caeser’s Arena on Sunday. With 11 newcomers on the roster, and an entirely new staff, questions abounded surrounding the beginning of the Dusty May era.
And while season-long questions can’t entirely be answered in just 40 minutes of an exhibition game in October, the Wolverines left more to look forward to than to leave behind — perhaps for the first time in a long time. Against a capable Golden Grizzlies program, capable of more than their fair share of upsets, Michigan appeared prepared from the opening bell to the final punch.
