Five-star wing Anthony Thompson sets Michigan official visit

August 5, 2025 by UM Hoops

Five-star wing Anthony Thompson will take an official visit to Michigan on September 5th, as first reported by Joe Tipton.

Thompson is the No. 8 prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, per 247 Sports Composite, and excelled on the Adidas 3SSB circuit with his combination of size and shooting ability. He averaged 22 points per game, shooting 62% on twos and 39% on threes, throughout grassroots play this summer. HE plays his high school ball at Western Reserve Academy in Ohio.

Thompson is also scheduled to visit North Carolina (August 22nd), Ohio State (August 29th), Indiana (September 12th), Texas (September 19th), and Kentucky (September 24th). He previously took an unofficial visit to Michigan last year.

Thompson announced a top-seven list last month, and has scheduled to take official visits to six of his finalists (all except Purdue). He’s expected to make a college decision after concluding his visits and sign in the early period.
