Five-star forward Caleb Gaskins names two potential spring visits after winning Chipotle Nationals

April 7, 2025 by Zags Blog

FISHERS, IN — One word comes to mind when watching class of 2026 five-star forward Caleb Gaskins: versatility.

Gaskins — the 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward out of Columbus (FL) — truly does it all. He can put the ball on the deck. He has a good looking stroke from 3-point range and the best mid-range touch in the 2026 class. And we haven’t even mentioned his rebounding and defensive capabilities.

In three games at Chipotle Nationals, the five-star averaged 9.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game with four total blocks. Columbus, the No. 1 seed, ended up winning the title over No. 10 Dynamic Prep, 67-49.

“This means a lot,” Gaskins told ZAGSBLOG postgame. “We worked so hard from the beginning of the season until now. It just shows our character. We’ve fought through ups and downs. So its just an amazing feeling.”

This summer, Gaskins will be playing with Nightrydas Elite. His little brother, Cayden Gaskins, will also be playing in the program with the 15u squad. They aren’t the only two hoopers in the family, with their older sister Alasia Spivey playing college ball at Odessa State.

So far in Gaskins’ recruiting process, he hasn’t taken any visits. However, he will take Ole Miss and Louisville this spring and maybe some others, but he doesn’t know dates yet. Louisville, Miami, Michigan and Ole Miss were all in to see Gaskins during the high school season.

Here’s his breakdown of those four programs:

Louisville: “[Pat Kelsey] has been really hot on recruiting. Always has a great team. So that’s a good school.”

Miami: “I haven’t really been recruited by Miami before. But now since Jai [Lucas] has got the job, I’ve been getting recruited by them. So he’s a great coach, he’s a great recruiter. I’m excited to see what the season holds for him.”

Michigan: “Coach Dusty [May], he’s a great coach as we’ve seen. I love their offense. I kind of wish they went further in the tournament, but they did a good job.”

Ole Miss: “They had a great season. They’re a very tenacious team. I like everything that they do.”

Gaskins is ranked the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2026 class by 247Sports. He believes he’d thrive in a fast-paced system with a five-out offense.

“To be honest, I really think I can I can thrive in any offense though, just because my game style is so versatile,” Gaskins said. “So I don’t really have to worry about that recruiting wise.”

The forward is part of the Jr. NBA Court of Leaders , which is an initiative that supports young athletes through mentorship and unique learning opportunities. There, Gaskins was able to show off his ceramics skills. That’s one of his hidden talents, and he can make vases, mugs, cups, plates and bowls.
