Earlier this week, we asked fans which recruit they want Michigan to land the most. The results are in, and there’s a clear favorite.

65% of fans want to see Michigan land 2026 running back Savion Hiter, the No. 1 RB in his class and No. 17 player in the nation. The 5-foot-11.5, 200-pound recruit visited Michigan last weekend and visited Tennessee this weekend. Hiter’s final four is down to Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Georgia.
Thank you @UMichFootball for having my family and I this weekend it was an aMaizing official visit #GoBlue @Coach_SMoore @Coach_AlfordUM pic.twitter.com/W38McZ3m0X

While Hiter is surely still a priority for the Wolverines, Michigan just landed a 2026 commitment in three-star running back Jonathan Brown. However, Brown’s commitment won’t have any impact on Michigan’s pursuit of Hiter. Hiter’s advisor recently said that Michigan always rolls out the red carpet for him when he visits Ann Arbor and shows him what a main priority looks like on and off the field.
Coming in with 22% of the voting total was 2026 four-star wide receiver Calvin Russell. Russell visited Michigan over the weekend.

Russell is the No. 5 wide receiver in the ‘26 class and has received comps to Cincinnati Bengals wideout Tee Higgins . The 6-foot-5 and 195-pound wideout will be making his commitment decision on July 5.
Coming in with 12% of the vote was ‘26 four-star edge rusher Carter Meadows. Meadows also visited Michigan over the weekend.

If Michigan were to land any of these recruits, they’d be major wins for the program, but Hiter may wind up being the cream of the crop — the voters in this edition of SB Nation Reacts sure seem to think so.
