Will Michigan finish with a Top 5 recruiting class? Many fans think so.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NCAA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Michigan Wolverines fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
The Michigan Wolverines have been red hot on the recruiting trail in recent weeks. Michigan’s 2026 class currently ranks No. 7 in the nation and there’s a good chance they’ll finish in the Top 10 or perhaps even Top 5.
Earlier this week, we asked fans what Michigan’s final recruiting ranking will be for the ‘26 class. And now the results are in.

57% of fans think Michigan will finish with a Top 5 class, 28% say Top 10, 14% feel they’ll finish in the Top 3, with just 1% of voters thinking they’ll finish outside the Top 10.
Ohio State is right above Michigan in the 247 Sports ‘26 recruiting rankings at No. 6 and it’ll be interesting to see how things shake out between now and signing day. If Michigan was to somehow overtake Ohio State in recruiting it would be a major turning point in the rivalry. Ohio State consistently churns out higher ranked recruiting classes than Michigan, but in the age of NIL and revenue sharing perhaps the playing field between the Buckeyes and Wolverines is more level than ever.
