Philadelphia Eagles rookie offensive lineman Trevor Keegan is doing a good job ingratiating himself with his new fanbase.
In the process though, he may have ticked off some members of his old one at the University of Michigan. Keegan is in the process of preparing for his first NFL preseason game, and last week he participated in the Eagles’ public practice at Lincoln Financial Field.
An estimated crowd of 50,000 attended the session, and Keegan told the Eagles’ official website that the contingent made more noise than Michigan fans did during home games with more than double that amount in attendance.
“I think I told Fred (Johnson) in the locker room that we play a game in five days. That’s pretty cool. I’m excited,'” Keegan said . “I even got a little emotional getting over to the stadium (on Thursday for the Public Practice). I don’t know how many people were there, but it was louder than Michigan’s stadium. Definitely. It was rockin’. I got goosebumps.”
Of course, “The Big House” is often ranked among the toughest places to play in college football, and Keegan’s comments might just be more of a testament to the unmatched fervor of Philly fans.
A fifth-round pick this year after making third-team All-Big Ten in 2023 and first-team all-conference the season prior, Keegan is currently pushing for playing time in Philadelphia.
He’s currently the second-string left guard behind Landon Dickerson, but has received some first-team reps during camp.
