Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy has been one of the biggest risers of this year’s NFL Draft process.
McCarthy has not only worked his way up to being a first round pick, he’s going to go in the top five picks, ESPN’s Kimberley Martin believes.
On Get Up Wednesday, Martin called her shot, saying its not a matter of if McCarthy will be a top five pick, but simply which team picks him that early.
“When I think of J.J. McCarthy, it’s not a question of, ‘Will he be a top five pick?’ He will be. And it’s a question of which spot in the top five he goes,” Martin said.
Martin went on to say that the New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants are all interested in McCarthy. The Patriots have the No. 3 overall pick, while the Giants, who pick sixth, and the Vikings, who pick 11th and also have a second first-round pick, would have to trade up for the Michigan signal caller.
Caleb Williams is widely expected to be the Chicago Bears’ choice for the No. 1 overall pick, while the buzz for Jayden Daniels to Washington at No. 2 is growing.
After that, McCarthy watch begins. He and UNC’s Drake Maye are regarded as the other two of the “Big Four” quarterback prospects in this year’s draft.
