BOOM! Michigan landed one of the nation’s top kickers in the 2026 class in Micah Drescher. MORE:
The Michigan Wolverines took another step toward solidifying their special teams future, landing a commitment from one of the top kickers in the nation.
On Wednesday, Hinsdale (Ill.) Central standout Micah Drescher announced his pledge to the Wolverines on social media, giving Michigan its 11th commitment in the 2026 recruiting class and its second specialist in the last week.
Blessed to announce I have committed to @UMichFootball on full scholarship. Thank you @CNendick25 , @Chris_Sailer , and @HCRedDevilFB for all your help and support. #GoBlue @JTBrown721 @jbrowngoblue @Garrett__Alan @CoachKurzner pic.twitter.com/syMlHEEoEs

Drescher, a 6-foot-3, 190-pounder, is rated the No. 4 kicker in the country, per Chris Sailer Kicking .
“Micah is an outstanding high school kicking and punting prospect,” Sailer noted in his evaluation. “He hits a pure, accurate ball off the ground, has 55+ yard range, and his best kickoffs measure 70+ yards with 4.15+ hang time. He’s also a very talented punter.”
Drescher chose Michigan over reported offers from UConn, Northwestern, Air Force and Army, among others.
With Dominic Zvada entering his final year of eligibility and Adam Samaha transferring out this offseason, the Wolverines had a need to address at kicker. They’ve now done so in a big way by landing one of the elite players at the position in the country.
Drescher becomes the second special teams specialist in Michigan’s 2026 class, joining long snapper Colton Dermer. If Drescher lives up to his billing, Michigan could be in good hands for years to come.
