Bush was one of three linebackers to earn the honor
The Big Ten Network is at it again with All-Decade Teams, this time for for Big Ten Football after unveiling the version for basketball last week. Monday was the first day of their release party that will take place every day throughout the week, starting with running backs and linebackers.
One linebacker was none other than former Michigan Wolverine Devin Bush who wound up being selected at No. 10 overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2019 NFL Draft . In his collegiate years, Bush was a menace on defense totaling 10 career sacks, 172 tackles, and 18.5 for loss in 32 career games.
Bush was a rare talent that had sideline-to-sideline speed in coverage and a tenacity to bring down the big running backs in the Big Ten Conference. He was the cornerstone of a defense that ranked within the Top-20 in the country over his two seasons as a starter.
Here’s what the experts had to say about Michigan middle linebacker:

“He earned a reputation as a guy who can deliver a pop from the linebacker position. But it wasn’t just that. His overall athleticism was hard not to mention. His second season in Ann Arbor, he started at linebacker every game, and piled up the tackles; more than 100 by the end of the year. Once that season was done, he was a First-Team All-Big Ten selection… His junior he, he was named Big Ten Linebacker of the Year and the league’s Defensive Player of the Year… Now he will be remembered as one of the best linebackers the Big Ten has had this decade.”
On Tuesday, the Big Ten will announce the offensive lineman honorees, with the tight ends and defensive backs coming on Wednesday. Then, the panelists will reveal the wide receivers and defensive lineman on Thursday and the quarterback, kicker, punter, and all-purpose players on Friday. The Coach of the Decade will also be publicized on Friday.
The Big Ten crafted a panel of 24 voting members for the project including writers and analysts from the Big Ten Network, The Athletic, CBS Sports, Fox Sports, and Sports Illustrated. All announcements of selections will be posted on Twitter throughout the week!
