Connor Stalions won’t be returning to the Michigan Wolverines anytime soon due to the school’s sign-stealing scandal. That being said, he’s finding other ways to remain in the headlines.
Stalions, who resigned from his role at Michigan last season, recently broke his silence during a Netflix documentary. Not only did he explain how he was able to decipher other teams’ signals, he basically hinted that Michigan isn’t the only school taking these drastic measures to gain an advantage on the gridiron.
“If I’m a bad guy, then everyone in football is a bad guy,” Stalions said.
Clearly, former NFL punter Pat McAfee watched this documentary. He couldn’t stop raving about Stalions on Thursday’s episode of “The Pat McAfee Show.”
McAfee started off his rant about Stalions by applauding his dedication to Michigan.
“Did he cross the line? Certainly. But what I learned from him is I don’t think I’ve ever seen somebody love the thought of being a coach, football and Michigan more than Connor Stalions,” Mcafee said.
McAfee then extended an offer to Stalions on national television.
“I would like to go on the record of stating any team in any sport that I’m a fan of, I would like Connor Stalions to be on the staff.”
It sounds like McAfee wants Stalions to be on the staff of one of his sports teams, not his actual staff at ESPN. However, we can’t rule out that possibility since he loves adding talent to his show.
It was previously reported that Stalions will serve as the defensive coordinator for Detroit Mumford High School.
If Stalions wants to consider roles outside of coaching in the future, he should give McAfee a call.
