The Falcons have genuine interest in Michigan’s head coach.
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh met with the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday for their head coach vacancy, and then on Tuesday Harbaugh did the same with the Atlanta Falcons. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Harbaugh met one-on-one with Falcons owner Arthur Blank in person.
That meeting with Blank went well enough for Atlanta to want to continue the interview process with Harbaugh. Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Falcons are scheduling a second interview with Harbaugh next week.

Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has already met with the Falcons twice and has received strong interest from the team, and it’s clear Harbaugh is also being held in high regard.
No man knows the future and whether Harbaugh stays at Michigan, heads to the Chargers or Falcons, or winds up interviewing with other teams remains to be seen. We’ll just report on the facts when they roll in and leave the conjecture and predictions to those who don’t know what they’re talking about. Only Jim Harbaugh knows, and he doesn’t even know where he’ll coach next season just yet. The process has to play itself out.
