Speedy Amorion Walker is back with the Wolverines and is striving to be like Minnesota Vikings All-Pro Justin Jefferson.
Michigan wide receiver Amorion Walker has had an interesting collegiate journey thus far. Walker started his Michigan career at wideout before transitioning to defensive back last year.
At the conclusion of the 2023 season, Walker transferred to Ole Miss but transferred back to Michigan after spring ball.
“He looks great,” Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore said this summer. “He’s long, lean, and as fast as ever. We’re excited about him.”
Walker’s now back at receiver for the Wolverines and coming back to the Michigan program has been seamless for him.
“Fitting right back in. I’m back with all my brothers, the ones I love the most,” Walker said on Thursday. “Being around the guys is where I wanted to be. Difficulty? I wouldn’t even really say I have one. I’ve been having fun, coming out making plays.”
While the 6-foot-3, 182-pound Walker has just one career catch, he has his sights set on a lot more production this fall. Walker was asked the type of receiver he aspires to be on the gridiron, and he mentioned an All-Pro wideout from the Minnesota Vikings.
“As far as my game, who I try to emulate, who I watch the most, I say Justin Jefferson.”
When asked what kind of player he is, Walker said he’s “the full pack.”
“I’m gonna be a great teammate. I’m gonna go on the field and give you everything I got. Fight for your brothers next to you. And just making plays, it’s all it comes down to.”
While receivers such as Tyler Morris, Semaj Morgan, and Fredrick Moore will all carve out key roles for the Wolverines this fall, Walker should be able to make a name for himself as well. Walker is confident in what Michigan’s receivers and the No. 9 ranked Wolverines will be able to do this season.
“We got playmakers,” Walker said. “We’re gonna go out and do what we need to do.”
