Early morning BOOOOOM! 2026 RB Jonathan Brown — a native of Columbus, Ohio — has committed to the Michigan Wolverines! MORE:
After earning his offer from Tony Alford on Thursday, 2026 running back Jonathan Brown officially wasted very little time and announced his commitment to the Michigan Wolverines in the early hours of Sunday morning.
I am thrilled to announce my commitment to @UMichFootball Thank you God my parents for all the sacrifices you’ve made @FootballSFD and finally @Coach_SMoore @Coach_AlfordUM for believing in me #GoBlue @AllenTrieu @TylerStevens94 @CoachB_SVA @CoachTBarr @KristianRDyer pic.twitter.com/hPT8sIpSFS

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, Brown hails from Columbus, Ohio and is a three-star prospect by 247Sports; he does not yet have a composite ranking.
Despite the low status among the recruiting services as of now, Brown has put up some really good testing numbers this summer for a player his size. He ran a verified 4.56 40-yard dash and 4.39 shuttle time at Under Armour’s Ohio camp this summer, while also running a 4.5 40-yard dash at Michigan’s camp this past week.
“I’ve faced many challenges on my recruiting journey, including false promises and being overlooked despite my strong character, good upbringing, impressive grades, and athletic skills,” Brown told 247Sports’ Allen Trieu ($) following his commitment. “Yet, I believe God has always guided my path. Michigan recognized these qualities in me, which is why it feels like the perfect place to call home.”
Brown is the first running back and the 11th prospect to commit to Michigan in this cycle. The Wolverines will continue to recruit five-star Savion Hiter — who officially visited Ann Arbor last weekend — to be the crown jewel of their 2026 class.
As a junior last fall, Brown ran for 1,295 yards and 16 touchdowns for St. Francis de Sales, according to his Hudl. You can check out highlights from that season in the video below.
