The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder from Mansfield, Texas has been a longtime top target for Ron Bellamy and took his official visit to Ann Arbor the first weekend of June. The Wolverines had to hold off pushes from Texas Tech, Miami, Stanford and Nebraska — schools he took official visits to after his trip to Michigan — before securing his commitment.
The Mansfield, Texas native connected with freshman receiver Andrew Marsh, who also hails from the state of Texas, during his time in Ann Arbor and spoke highly of the team.
“Just the people (stood out the most). Everyone is nice. It was great. I love the culture,” Robinson told The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich .
“I think it would be a good fit for me,” Robinson also told On3’s EJ Holland . “They have great facilities and great coaches that are going to make you better. They have a great education and development.”
247Sports’ Gabe Brooks scouted Robinson earlier this month and compared him to Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quinten Johnston:
Tall outside target pushing 6-foot-3 with excellent multi-sport athletic context in basketball and track and field. More polished pass catchers are out there, but very few boast this combination of above-the-rim hardwood context, a state championship high jump gold medal, and corresponding high-level athleticism in pads. Frame and explosion foster contested-catch dominance. Displays sneaky run-after-catch effectiveness relative to frame and straight-line top-end gear. Shows adequate acceleration that times requires a build-up runway, but leads to breakaway long speed. Still developing hands consistency and route technique, but showed encouraging signs during junior season and Spring 2025 elite camp evaluation. A particularly high-ceiling outside receiver prospect who could become an impact player in college with long-term pro potential.
Robinson is ranked No. 18 at the wide receiver position, No. 19 from the state of Texas and No. 132 overall, per 247Sports’ composite. The only committed players ranked higher than him are four-star defensive lineman Titan Davis — who committed to the Wolverines earlier this week — and four-star quarterback Brady Smigiel.
Last year, Robinson put up 42 catches for 527 yards and eight touchdowns. You can check out his junior season highlights in the video below.
