Gregory Patrick has Michigan in his top four schools, and the 2026 four-star offensive lineman’s recruiting process is starting to heat up:
The Michigan Wolverines are still in the running for 2026 four-star offensive lineman Gregory Patrick . The Portage, Michigan native recently revealed his top four schools, which included Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Penn State.

Patrick is 6-foot-4.5, 275 pounds and the second-best player in the state of Michigan, according to 247Sports’ composite. Not only is he a big-time talent, but keeping him in-state and away from other rival programs would bode well for Sherrone Moore’s reputation.
It’s one thing to pluck prospects from SEC country or the West Coast, but when schools like Penn State, Michigan State and Notre Dame are involved, Moore has to prove to the hometown kids that Michigan is the place to be in the Midwest.
About one quarter of the 2025 roster hails from the Mitten State, led by Rayshaun Benny, Semaj Morgan, Giovanni El-Hadi, and incoming freshmen such as Bryce Underwood, Avery Gach and Kaden Strayhorn.
The Spartans are the current favorites to land Patrick — he is a Spartan legacy recruit — but the Wolverines, led by Moore and offensive line coach Grant Newsome, are not going to give up until the very end.
Patrick has played tackle and guard in high school, but is probably better suited for the interior at the next level. Despite his towering frame and long arms, his best film comes as a puller where he can scope out second-level defenders and use his power to open rushing lanes.
He plays low to the ground and has excellent lower-body strength to match active hands when engaging with defenders. Patrick is already a sturdy 275 pounds, and with some room to grow in college, he could easily wind up playing at or near 300 pounds.
Patrick resembles a former Wolverine, Karsen Barnhart was most successful as a right guard/right tackle. Patrick could find himself in a similar role if he were to commit to the Maize and Blue. That type of versatility is not uncommon for elite high school linemen, but it still matters in the recruiting process and is certainly part of Patrick’s appeal.
Michigan has an excellent 2025 class of linemen and already has a 2026 commitment from four-star Bear McWhorter . Locking up Patrick would bolster the class a bit more and continue the recent tradition of dominance in the trenches. Moore has made it clear this is where he wants to build his teams, and Patrick would be a welcome addition.
Patrick’s recruitment process will be one to monitor as he takes visits this spring and summer. He will take official visits to all four of his finalists and then look to make a decision shortly thereafter.
Michigan will get the last crack on his official visit schedule, with Patrick coming in the weekend of June 20. Hopefully Michigan can seal the deal with him following his official visit and continue the tradition of “The best players in Michigan go to Michigan.”
