Michigan extended an offer to Lewis earlier this spring , with the four-star point guard being one of the top 2025 targets for Dusty May and his staff. Michigan is the only Big Ten school on the top list for the Washington D.C. native, as the Wolverines are joined by Georgetown, Xavier, LSU , Creighton and Seton Hall.
On the 247Sports composite , Lewis is ranked 36th overall, fifth among point guards and first among recruits from Washington D.C. Xavier, LSU, Seton Hall and Richmond have already hosted Lewis on official visits, per his social media .
There’s a lot to like about the 6-foot-1 ball handler. He’s pretty quick but also does a great job dictating the pace of play, staying controlled with the ball in his hands and taking what the defense gives him. He’s also a nifty finisher around the rim who does a good job using his 190-pound frame to shield off defenders on lay-ups and floaters.

Lewis is a great spot-up shooter with a beautiful jump shot that has a quick release and goes in consistently. One of the toughest things for young guards to develop is finishing in the mid-range and on the edges of the lane when they can’t get to the rim, but Lewis already has a knack for scoring from that area of the floor.
He scores pretty well in transition, with a combination of his talent and a high basketball IQ helping him thrive there. Lewis is incredibly polished for a high school point guard.
It’s easy to see why May, a ball-screen offense aficionado who wants to play two point guards at the same time this season, is recruiting a guy like Lewis. He navigates screens beautifully, utilizing stop-and-start dribbles and a fluid handle to get open looks.
With his consistent mid-range stroke, ball-screen navigation and quick pace of play, going off highlights and film from summer showcases, Lewis reminds me of Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox or Utah Jazz point guard Kira Lewis Jr.
You can never have enough good point guards in college basketball, and if Lewis commits to Michigan, he would add depth in his first season or two with the upside to grow into a starting guard and a top scorer in Ann Arbor.
We’ll keep you updated on the recruitment of Lewis and other top recruits as college basketball’s long offseason continues. Hopefully getting him back on campus for a game or two in the winter can help sway Lewis toward the Wolverines.
