Michigan’s chances of landing Bryce Underwood appear unlikely at this point after Underwood shared a post referencing him declining a Michigan NIL offer.
Michigan has reportedly been trying to flip 2025 No. 1 overall prospect and No. 1 overall quarterback Bryce Underwood from LSU to the Wolverines. On Wednesday, On3 Sports reported that Michigan is offering Underwood an NIL package of $10.5 million over four years.
On Thursday evening, Underwood shared a graphic on Instagram which read “#1 QB likely to decline Michigan’s $10.5M NIL offer.”
Underwood has since deleted the post.

Tony Garcia from the Detroit Free Press went on to report that sources are telling him Underwood is expected to remain pledged to LSU.
If Underwood is indeed staying at LSU, Michigan will have to come up with a Plan B in a hurry. With four-star quarterback Carter Smith decommitting from Michigan in late October the Wolverines don’t currently have a quarterback commit in the 2025 class.
Underwood attended Michigan’s night game tilt at Michigan Stadium against rival Michigan State but attended LSU’s night game against Alabama last week. Whether it came down to dollars and cents or Underwood reportedly remaining with LSU has more to do with his development may come to light someday — regardless of the reason it feels as if the moment has passed for the Wolverines to keep the Belleville, Michigan prospect in his home state.
