“I chose Michigan because of how my role would translate to their style of play and essentially I could just see myself succeeding there,” he told On3’s Joe Tipton . “Coach May is awesome. He’s very into it and broke a lot of things down for me to show how I would impact the team. I’d say I’m a versatile player who can put the ball on the floor, can step out and shoot the 3, and I use my size to my advantage with mismatches. The fans can expect me to bring a lot of energy offensively and defensively, love to do the small things that don’t go on the stat sheet.”
Goodman included Michigan in his top-four and also visited Michigan in October . The Wolverines went up against Ohio State , Georgetown and Texas Tech in this recruitment.
Goodman has represented his home country in several FIBA contests , including the 2022 U15 Oceania Championship, the U16 2023 Asia Championship, and the U17 2024 U17 FIBA basketball World Cup. In seven games in the World Cup, he averaged 17 points, 6.3 rebounds and three assists per game, helping his country get fourth-place. He’s also played in several showcases with NBA Global Academy.
Watching highlights, it’s clear to see why May and his staff pursued Goodman. The 6-foot-7 forward shoots the three-point ball well with a solid jump shot. He runs the floor well and finishes efficiently in transition. He also cuts extremely well, as he has a great feel for where to go to get himself open. He’s got excellent court vision and he’s an effective passer. He also can hold his own in the post, anticipating post moves for blocks.
After watching Michigan’s team practice at the Pro Day , it’s easy to picture Goodman fitting right in with Michigan’s free-flowing, fast-paced, three-point-heavy offensive attack.
Goodman is the second player in the 2025 class to commit to Michigan, joining four-star forward Winters Grady . Landing both these guys in the month of October — a key month of recruiting in college basketball — is huge for the program.
We are excited to watch Goodman play in Ann Arbor, and we will keep you updated on what he’s up to before he hits campus as a student-athlete.
