This is the second flip this week for the Wolverines, as four-star safety Ivan Taylor flipped from Michigan to Alabama on Monday. However, Michigan was also the beneficiary of a flip on Wednesday, as the Wolverines were able to flip four-star safety Elijah Dotson from Pitt.
Williams had been committed to Michigan since June. At 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, Williams was viewed as a versatile prospect that could line up almost anywhere along the defensive front. This is a loss for the Wolverines, there’s no question about it.
However, not all is lost. The Wolverines are left with four-star Julius Holly, three-star Benny Patterson and three-star Bobby Kanka as defensive linemen committed in the 2025 class. They also continue to recruit other players in the class, such as four-star Tobi Haastrup and Travis Moten — both players are officially visiting this weekend — as well as Christian Ingram and three-star Syracuse commit Quante Gillians , both of whom recently visited Ann Arbor.
