BOOOOOOOOOOM! 2025 five-star OL Andrew Babalola just announced his commitment to Michigan! Sherrone Moore reels in his first five-star recruit as head coach of the Wolverines!
Sherrone Moore just acquired his first commitment from a five-star recruit as head coach of the Michigan Wolverines , as 2025 five-star offensive lineman Andrew Babalola announced his pledge to the maize and blue on Monday night.
BREAKING: Five-Star OT Andrew Babalola has Committed to Michigan, he tells me for @On3Recruits

The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder plays at Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas. He is also a multi-sport athlete in high school, as Babalola also plays basketball at the AAU level.
Moore and Grant Newsome have been recruiting Babalola vigorously for a long time, offering him a scholarship last September. He took an unofficial visit back in March, and then followed that up with his official visit the weekend of June 14.
It’s difficult for any school to land a commitment from a five-star in this day and age of college football with Name, Image and Likeness being so prominent. However, Babalola’s recruitment didn’t really have much to do with NIL. His final two schools were Michigan and Stanford — he also considered Auburn, Missouri and Oklahoma — so he very clearly values academics and other things outside of just receiving a paycheck.
247Sports’ Gabe Brooks scouted Babalola last fall and compared him to former Ohio State offensive lineman Nicholas Petit-Frere:
Big-framed, athletic, book-end tackle prospect with excellent physical tools. Relatively newer to football and owns an AAU basketball background that reflects in movement patterns and functional athleticism. Quick off the ball. Convicted down blocker who’s shown more block-finishing confidence in general during junior season. Also displaying improved knee-bending flexibility and resulting leverage advantages, an encouraging development for a young tackle in the 6-6, 275 neighborhood. Springs to the second level. Still developing punch power consistency, but playing with better-than-expected point-of-attack strength. Feet are ahead of the hands, which is not necessarily a bad thing at this stage, especially considering physical gifts. Gets to his spots quickly and with purpose, but hand placement and technique need work. A fairly nimble, balanced athlete in space who can improve body control when engaged. Field demeanor leans toward the run game, but physical tools suggest elite pass-pro potential. Likely needs time to develop physically and technically in college, but appears to be one of the 2025 class’ highest-ceiling offensive tackle prospects. Projects as an eventual quality high-major starter with physical and athletic profiles that suggest NFL Draft early-round upside.
With Babalola now committed, Michigan owns the No. 14 ranked recruiting class in 2025. He is the third offensive lineman to commit to the Wolverines, as he joins four-star Avery Gach (guard) and three-star Kaden Strayhorn (center).
Babalola is the No. 1 player from the state of Kansas, No. 4 offensive tackle and No. 21 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports’ composite. Check out some of his dominant junior season highlights in the video below.
