Cason was previously committed to FAU, with FAU Owls Nest reporting at the beginning of this month that Cason was granted the release from his letter of intent. The Lakeland, Florida native is rated as the 35th-best combo guard in his class and the 22nd-best recruit from his state according to 247Sports .
When it comes to his game, Cason is quick off the dribble and has a smooth handle. His three-point shot goes in consistently, and he has some real deep range. He’s also lightning quick, finishing through contact at the rim and leading the break well in transition. He’s an incredible athlete who could develop into a lead guard at Michigan in a few seasons.

Cason, four-star guard Justin Pippen and three-star in-state guard Durral Brooks make up Michigan’s 2024 class. They’ll play alongside incoming newcomers in Ohio State guard Roddy Gayle Jr. , Alabama forward Sam Walters , North Texas guard Rubin Jones , Yale center Danny Wolf and Auburn guard Tre Donaldson .
When you factor in the four players still on the roster from last season — guards George Washington III, Nimari Burnett and Jace Howard, and forward Will Tschetter — the Wolverines currently have 12 of their 13 scholarships filled for the 2024-25 season.
