How to watch MSU women’s soccer, football, basketball, and hockey on Saturday

TOC Nation, clear your calendars for tomorrow. You are staying home and watching 4 back-to-back-to-back-to-back games of Spartan sports. Yes, the MSU athletic department brilliantly planned the schedules of the women’s soccer game, the football game, the basketball game, and the hockey game so that you can watch all of them in their entirety all in a row. And there will be an appetizer Friday night with the first hockey game of the weekend series. Here are the details for everything. We will have one jumbo game thread on Saturday for all four games.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Who: Michigan State vs. Western Michigan

What: NCAA Tournament first round game

When: Saturday, November 16 @ Noon

Where: DeMartin Stadium; East Lansing, MI

TV: ESPN+

FOOTBALL

Who: Michigan State Spartans at Illinois Fighting Illini

When: November 16, 2024 @ 2:30 PM

Where: Memorial Stadium; Champaign, IL

TV: FS1

Radio: Local listings , online or on the app

Bet: Illinois -3.5; over/under 48.5

Predictions:

Mike: I have no idea what will happen at Illinois, or the rest of the season for that matter. Is MSU still reeling from a tough loss to Michigan and getting destroyed by Indiana? Are guys looking past the remainder of this season, possibly to the transfer portal? Are the injuries sustained at Indiana going to be too much to overcome, especially when added to the guys that were already out? Or have the Spartans used their second bye week to regroup, ready again to play competitive football? Michigan State is 2-2 in “toss up” games this year (Maryland, BC, Iowa, Michigan), alternating wins and losses. I think they are due for a win and come out fighting. Also, I don’t think Illinois has been very explosive on offense and MSU’s defense (30th at 323.6 ypg) is statistically better than the Illini (67th, 365.4). So let’s say 20-16 Spartans. I am trying very, very hard to stay positive here.

Steve: I think the woes continue for MSU in this one. Offense struggles to find identity again and likely turn the ball over. I can also see frustration piling over to some unnecessary penalties. Sadly, I predict Illini 24 MSU 7. Here’s to hoping I’m very wrong!

Brian: MSU coming off a bye week and reducing drive-killing mistakes over a UI team realizing they aren’t as good as their early season hype. 31-17 MSU.

O: I said before the season that MSU would go 7-5 so I guess that means I am predicting us to win our final three games. In that case, this should be an ugly one. I’ll go with a Spartan victory, 23-17.

BASKETBALL

Who: Michigan State Spartans vs. Bowling Green

When: November 16, 2024 @ 6 PM

Where: Breslin Center; East Lansing, MI

TV: BTN

HOCKEY

Who: Michigan State Spartans vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

When: Friday, November 15 @ 7 PM & Saturday, November 16, 2024 @ 8 PM

Where: Munn Ice Arena; East Lansing, MI

TV: BTN+

Looking forward to watching all the games with you tomorrow.
