Hello Spartan Nation!

While we generally look into the revenue sports here at TOC, we wanted to remind folks of the phenomenal turnaround the Spartans Gymnastics Squad has made over the last few years under head coach Mike Rowe and the phenomenal staff he’s brought in. After winning the conference last season, MSU earned its fourth-straight top-two finish at the Big Ten Championships in 2025.
More specifically – tune in to the National Semifinals tonight to catch the Spartan Women take the floor (and bars, vault, and balance beam) at the Nationals weekend for the first time in 37 years. The 8th seeded Spartans will be up against No. 1 seed LSU, No. 4 Utah and No. 5 UCLA. The action will be broadcast on ESPN2 with an MSU-focused stream available on ESPN+ – and action is no joke, the competition includes Jordan Chiles, one of the 2024 Summer Olympics Gold medalists competing for UCLA (and one of her Summer Games teammates, Hezly Rivera, is an LSU commit). The Green & White barely missed knocking the top-seeded Tigers off their perch in the Regional finals by 5/100ths of a point – with both ultimately advancing.
The Spartan team’s rotation order will be Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor. The top two of the four teams tonight will advance to Saturday’s 4pm Final.
If you can’t tune in tonight, make it a priority to see these Spartans compete next season – they have Jenison packed and jumping. And even if you know nothing about gymnastics other than these women are Strong – it’s definitely a great event.
Go Green!
