Let’s look at what the writers are saying after week 11
Week 11 of the college football season saw a pair of top five teams get upset plus an CFP elimination game in the SEC. We had more teams receive votes for the top ten this week than any other week this season. Let’s see how the Big Ten writers voted.
10. Georgia – 13 points
9. Alabama – 25 points
8. Notre Dame- 28 points
7. BYU – 34 points
6. Penn St. – 52 points
5. Tennessee – 55 points
4. Indiana – 60 points
3. Texas – 79 points
2. Ohio St. – 90 points (unanimous 2nd)
1. Oregon – 100 points (unanimous 1st)
The B1G is controlling the top of the polls with the top two and four of the top six. The SEC also has four, while the Big 12’s BYU and independent Notre Dame also get in. For the first time this season, there is no ACC representative in our rankings.
Player Of The Week:
This week’s best performances came from some familiar names. Honorable mentions went to Alabama QB Jalen Milroe and Texas QB Quinn Ewers. But the top dog this week was Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty. Jeanty had 34 carries for 209 yards and 3 TDs along with a pair of receptions for 12 more yards in Boise’s win over Nevada.
Heisman Watch:
We had more players receive votes this week, but the top of the leaderboard got a little more secure. At this point, I feel confident in saying the top two guys are set in stone, probably in this order.
4. Jalen Milroe – 3 points
4. Dillon Gabriel – 3 points
3. Cam Ward – 5 points
2. Travis Hunter – 15 points
1. Ashton Jeanty – 26 points
Enjoy your week, everyone.
