Let’s look at what the writers are saying after week 13
We have just one week left of the college football regular season. This past weekend saw a pair of SEC teams from our Top 10 fall, possibly costing themselves a spot in the playoff. Let’s see how it impacted our rankings after week 13.
10. Tennessee – 13 points
9. Indiana – 14 points
8. SMU – 17 points
7. Miami – 36 points
6. Notre Dame – 37 points
5. Georgia – 40 points
4. Penn State – 56 points
3. Texas – 62 points
2. Ohio State – 72 points (unanimous 2nd)
1. Oregon – 80 points (unanimous 1st)
That’s right, SMU has cracked the top ten for the first time this season. They are the team no one is talking about, though they will be playing for the ACC Championship in two weeks. Indiana’s loss to Ohio State drops them down from 5 to 9, but there is still a strong presence from the Big Ten here.
Player Of The Week
We have a tie this week, one on each side of the ball
Florida DB Bryce Thornton had himself a day with 14 tackles (5 solo) and 2 INTs including one to seal the win over Ole Miss.
And Kansas RB Devin Neal stuffed the stat sheet with 37 carries for 207 yards and 3 TDs, and he also had 4 receptions for 80 yards and 1 additional TD in the air.
Heisman Watch
Not much changed here other than Bama QB disappearing after their defeat to Oklahoma in which they only scored 3 points.
4. Will Howard – 1 point
4. Dillon Gabriel – 1 point
3. Cam Ward – 5 points
2. Travis Hunter – 15 points
1. Ashton Jeanty – 20 points
We will be back with this article next week and then we are putting it to bed. We will let the playoff committee and Heisman voters handle things from there.
