Did MSU add any names to their 2025 class?
I feel like we all need a little distraction from our basketball team today. Fortunately, today was National Signing Day in college football. MSU added a few names to the 2025 incoming class. One was previously committed but just did not sign on the early signing day. The others are names that have committed since December 4th.
The big name from today, and the player who did not sign back in December, is Bryson Williams from Orchard Lake St. Mary’s. Williams was a two-way player in high school and is expected to play running back for Michigan State. Standing 6’1” and 215 pounds, Williams is ranked as the #75 running back in this class, per the 247 composite.
As mentioned in previous posts, Williams will be one of five players coming to MSU from St. Mary’s next season. Two more of his high school teammates, Darrin Jones Jr. and Antonio Johnson, also signed today. Jones, a RB, is joining the program as a preferred walk-on. Johnson is a 300-pound interior offensive lineman who also is ranked 75th at his position by 247.
The last new member of the 2025 class is Nick Hardy, a wide receiver from Birmingham Groves in Metro Detroit. Hardy was on the varsity for four years of high school and is listed at 6’1” and 175 pounds.
In total, Jonathan Smith is bringing in 19 new scholarship players and the one preferred walk-on, in addition to the 16 players he found in the transfer portal.
Okay, now we can get back to worrying about our hoops squad.
