Tom Izzo’s 30th season gets underway
Michigan State hosts the Monmouth Hawks to begin the 2024-25 basketball season on Monday night. Here’s what you need to know about our opening opponent. First of all, it is prononced “mawn-myth”, not “mawn-mouth”. Second, the university is located in West Long Branch, NJ, which is on the Jersey Shore about 30 minutes south of NYC. Lastly, they play in the Colonial Athletic Association where they were 10-8 in conference and 18-15 overall last season. That’s enough about them. Here are the game details.
When: 7 PM
Where: Breslin Center
TV: BTN+
Bet: MSU -17.5; over/under 146.5
O’s Prediction: I don’t have a score prediction, but I’ll say MSU covers the spread. Also, I have a feeling that the Fears-Akins-Fidler-Booker-Zapala lineup we have been seeing in the exhibition games will not be the starting five on Monday night.
How do you all think the game will go? Who will start? What are you looking to see? Or are you protesting the game because it is on BTN+?
GO GREEN! GO WHITE!
