The Mel Tucker mess just won’t stop
Michigan State University President Kevin Guskiewicz told the Detroit News yesterday that the football program is under investigation for possible recruiting rules violations committed under former coach Mel Tucker’s staff. The article is behind a paywall.
President Guskiewicz did not reveal the severity of the accusations but indicated that he has a meeting scheduled with the NCAA next week.
MSU Athletic Department senior spokesperson Matt Larson issued this statement to Mlive.com :
“Michigan State athletics has cooperated with the NCAA to review a potential matter concerning the football program under the former staff and will continue to do so for the duration of the process. NCAA rules do not permit the University to provide any additional details at this time.”
Perhaps not a huge surprise here.
