See who has been showing out at the 2025 event
This past week was the second week of games at the 2025 Moneyball Pro Am. I’ll make the obligatory “grain of salt” warning here, but there has been one player who has been standing out so far. Transfer portal arrival Trey Fort, who played at Samford last season, dropped 58 points in his Thursday game. The performance was the highest output of this year’s games, thus far, though it is certainly not the only standout performance that Fort has had. In fact, he also had the 2nd highest output with a 53-point outing earlier in the event, and also had a 43-point game, good for the 6th highest single-game stat line.
Here are highlights from his 58-point game:
Michigan State fans, get to know Trey Fort.

A couple other members of the Spartans roster have also had some big games. There has been one other 50-burger so far, that one belonging to Coen Carr. Carr also had another game at 43. And incoming freshman Cam Ward had himself a 45-point game.
These performances offer us fans some sense of belief moving forward as MSU said goodbye to their three leading scorers from last season in Jaden Akins, Jase Richarson, and Tre Holloman. If Trey Fort and Coen Carr can take up the scoring loads of Richardson and Akins at the 2 and 3 positions, respectively, then the 2025-26 team could be alright. And if Ward can provide some firepower off the bench, a la Holloman, then this team could be better than alright.
Stay tuned for more Moneyball coverage in the three remaining weeks of this year’s event. Have any of you mid-Michigan residents had a chance to catch any of the action over at Holt High School?
