In-state star chooses MSU over Alabama, others
Jonathan Smith has come through with another big-time recruit. On Tuesday, Samson Gash from Detroit Catholic Central (which is in Novi, not Detroit) announced his intention to attend Michigan State. Gash, a high 3-star WR, is the latest name to join MSU’s 2026 class. According to 247Sports, he is the 49th-best WR in the class, and he is also the 4th ranked player in Michigan.
Gash stands 6’0” tall and weighs 180. Also, his name is Samson Gash which means his parents fully intended for him to be an amazing athlete. His commitment gives MSU three wide receivers in this cycle along with Zachary Washington and Tyren Wortham. All three committed in the past eight days. Gash had some significant offers from elsewhere, none bigger perhaps than Alabama.
The 2026 class now stands at 20 recruits.
