The Spartans host the #3 team in the country tomorrow. Here’s what you need to know.
Our Spartans suffered their first defeat of 2024 last weekend, and now they have the challenge of getting back on track against the Ohio State Buckeyes, the #3 team in the country and the highest ranked team in the Big Ten. It’s a night game and there is a possibility of rain due to Hurricane Helene, which made landfall early this morning. Here’s the info you need before this game.
Michigan State vs. Ohio State

TV: Peacock
Radio: Local listings , online or on the app
Betting: Ohio State -23.5; over/under 48
Injury Update: WR Jaron Glover will return. WR Nick Marsh will be a game-time decision.
Predictions:
Mike: Of course this will be the best team MSU has faced so far, and possibly all year. But, after three non-conference cake walks to start the season, the Spartans should be Ohio State’s toughest challenge to date. It’s also the Buckeyes’ first road trip of the season. There won’t be any hangover from the loss at Boston College and MSU will continue to play hard and inspired, limiting OSU to some field goals early and staying in the game at least into the second quarter. Unfortunately, this just seems like too big of a lift for the Spartans and the dam starts to break in the second half as OSU strings together some big plays. 37-17 Ohio State.
Steve: 4 turnovers. OSU 42 MSU 3.
Brian: MSU’s D comes through; offense gets a weapon back and finds a way to poke the bear distracted by some game down south just enough to get past. 15-14 MSU.
O: I do think that a rainy game will help MSU in that it should slow down OSU’s high-powered offense. It could also cause some of Chiles’ inevitable off-target passes to slip through the hands of Buckeye DBs, allowing us to avoid turnovers. Do I want to go as far as to let Brian’s eternal optimism sway my vote? You’re G-D damn right I do! Spartans with the upset of the century of the year! 23-20 with Jonathan Kim doing windmills down the field after he hits the buzzer-beating FG.
Enjoy the game. Game thread will open 2 hours before kickoff.
GO GREEN! GO WHITE!
