The Spartans host the Hawkeyes on Saturday night. Here’s what you need to know.
The second half of the season begins tomorrow as our Spartans play host to the Hawkeyes of Iowa. At this point, we pretty much know who Iowa is. Please read Brian’s preview and 5Qs for the scouting reports. What is still to be seen is who MSU is. We will start to find out tomorrow. Here’s the info you need before this game.
Michigan State vs. Iowa
When: Saturday, October 19, @ 7:30 PM
Where: Spartan Stadium; East Lansing, MI
TV: NBC and Peacock
Radio: Local listings , online or on the app
Betting: Iowa -6.5; over/under 41.5
Predictions:
Mike: I am feeling positive after the bye week. MSU gets just enough from the run game, barely surpassing 100 yards, but Chiles throws for over 250. A late TD seals it for the Spartans, 24-13.
Steve: I actually feel a bit optimistic about this game. A chilly night may induce a more defensive game. I like MSU in this one 20-17.
Brian: Defense keeps it somewhat low-scoring, special teams makes a difference, and the bye week helps both sides of the ball Immensely. 24-17 MSU wins.
O: Here is an excerpt from my answers on Iowa’s SB Nation site :
Saturday night. East Lansing. Beautiful weather that day. Coming off the bye week. I think Spartan Stadium is going to be amped up for this one.
In the end, I do think MSU’s big play ability will help them get over the edge with a go-ahead score late.
MSU prevails 24-23.
Enjoy the game. Game thread will open 2 hours before kickoff.
GO GREEN! GO WHITE!
