The Spartans host the Hoosiers on Saturday afternoon. Here’s what you need to know.
Game #9 is this weekend and the Michigan State Spartans have a daunting opponent ahead of them. The undefeated Indiana Hoosiers are coming to East Lansing to put their perfect record on the line. For our Spartans, a win would move them to 5-4, while a loss puts the team under .500 for the first time this season. Can MSU bounce back from last week’s heartbreaker to stay above water? Here’s the info you need before this game.
Michigan State vs. Indiana
When: Saturday, November 2, @ 3:30 PM
Where: Spartan Stadium; East Lansing, MI
TV: Peacock
Radio: Local listings , online or on the app
Betting: Indiana -7; over/under 50.5
Predictions:
Mike: I think a lot depends on if IU QB Kurtis Rourke plays and how effective he is. Assuming he performs as he has all year, Indiana could roll to a pretty comfortable victory, as they’ve done in every other game. Or, MSU could continue with an effective running game and ball control offense and finally make some progress in the red zone. 31-28 Spartans.
Steve: Rourke is fine, he plays. IU 28 – MSU 17
Brian: MSU looks to wash the salt out of their mouths and capitalizes on Rourke not testing his wiggly thumb too much and the Hoosiers looking too far ahead. 24-20 MSU
O: For me, the big intangible in this game, other than Indiana’s QB sitaution, is MSU’s mentality. Do they come out angry and aggressive, with something to prove after last week’s letdown? Or do they come out flat, still drained mentally? My bet is on the latter and the season gets away from us. Indiana stays perfect with a 30-17 win.
Enjoy the game. Game thread will open 2 hours before kickoff.
