In week 2, the Spartans head out for their first road game. Here’s what you need to know.
Our Michigan State Spartans began the 2024 campaign with a home victory over Florida Atlantic. And while a win is a win, this game left a lot to be desired and many fans in a panic about this season. To that, I say “Relax.” It is not time to jump to conclusions. Coach Smith, quarterback Aidan Chiles, and the rest of the Spartans know they did not play their best and they need to clean up some things immediately. We will find out tomorrow what they learned from week one. Here are some last notes to get you ready for the game.

Predictions:
Mike: Maryland has scored 31, 27, and 21 points in the last 3 games against MSU. That was against poor defenses and with Taulia Tagovailoa at quarterback. It’s obviously a small sample size, but this Spartan defense seems different. I think they can hold their own against Maryland. The MSU offense finds some more things that work but I’m not sure it will be enough to come away with the win. 24-15 Maryland.
Steve: After injuries and the eye test, Maryland 28 MSU 17
Brian: Hmmm, Maryland seemed to do what they needed to against UConn. For MSU, I’ll aim for a couple things getting fixed with the offense but a few others still to work on. Defense does enough: 20-14 good guys.
O: I can’t believe two of my cowriters are picking against us. I need to bring some balance to the universe. Spartans win, 27-23.
