The Spartans take on the Tigers in round two of the Maui Invitational on Tuesday
Well, it looks like my Maui Invitational bracket is busted. In the upset of the first round, Penny Hardaway’s Memphis Tigers defeated UConn in overtime, thanks in large part to a Dan Hurley technical foul call in the extra period. Those two freebies helped Memphis get the two-point win.
Speaking of two-point wins, that is what happened in the two later games yesterday, as Auburn came back from 16 down at the break to beat Iowa State and North Carolina came back from down 18 at halftime to knock off Dayton.
The winners’ side of the bracket will feature UNC and Auburn today at 11 PM EST, while our MSU Spartans, the only team who won comfortably in round 1, will take on Memphis at 6 PM (barring any delays from the 3:30 UConn/Colorado game).
Our game will be televised on ESPN. MSU is favored by 1.5 points, and the over/under is 147.5.
Y’all know what to do here.
