How will the Spartans look against the top teams in the Big Ten?
It is a massive week for the MSU Men’s Basketball Team as they play both of the other two teams at the top of the conference standings. The first of these games is tonight, a home game against last year’s conference winner and national runner-up, the Purdue Boilermakers. The game starts at 7 PM and is on everyone’s favorite streaming service, Peacock.
The Spartans are coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season, on the road against Illinois, the victory that gave Tom Izzo the B1G conference wins record. There was speculation that the pursuit of the record was giving some of our players some extra nerves and maybe that affected us in that four-game stretch where we lost three. Hopefully with the record now in hand, that aspect is no longer an issue and we continue playing like we did at the end of the Illinois game.
As for Purdue, they have lost two straight and are in danger of falling further back of first place. Vegas thinks that is what will happen as the Spartans are favored by 3.5 points. The over/under is 148.5.
Let’s get this cheering section started!
