The Spartans are getting back to playing basketball against a surprisingly good mid major program.
Michigan State ’s men’s basketball is getting back on the court after the holiday break. Their opponent is an old one: Indiana State. The last time these two teams faced off, the Spartans won the game and the 1979 national championship. This game clearly does not have those stakes, but Indiana State is playing very good basketball this year.
This will be a test for the Spartans as they shake off the long rest and adjust to a world without freshman backup point guard Jeremy Fears who was wounded in a shooting while home on break.

Debate Points/Things to Watch:
- Will Michigan State be able to match the intensity they displayed in the three game stretch before the holiday break?
- How much of an impact will the loss of Jeremy Fears be in this game (and beyond)?
- Will Steven Izzo finally get his elusive point(s) in this game?
