Game Thread: Michigan State @ UCLA

Can MSU get back on the right track?

Okay, the winning streak was fun while it lasted. Now it is time to get a new one started. At the midpoint of the conference schedule, we are sitting at 9-1 and in first place in the Big Ten. Unfortunately, of our ten remaining games, I think 11 of them are Quadrant 1. MSU has the toughest remaining conference schedule, on paper, of all the Big Ten teams. So going 9-1 in the back half would be even more impressive. Perhaps that is a bar too high, but there still should plenty of wins down the stretch, as we have won a lot of our conference games quite convincingly.

It all starts tonight when we go to Westwood to take on the UCLA Bruins. The Bruins currently have a five-game winning streak of their own, including two over ranked opponents, and are looking to get into the Big Ten’s top four. Amazingly, Vegas has them as the favorite in tonight’s matchup, with the spread set at 3.5. The over/under is at 138.5.

Game is scheduled for 10 PM ET and will stream on Peacock.

Will tonight be the night Coach Izzo ties Bob Knight’s mark? What do you think will happen?

Let’s get this cheering section started!
