Can the Spartans get back on the right track and sweep the Illini?
It’s gameday for Michigan State and this one really feels like a must win. MSU has suddenly dropped 3 of its last 4 games and has surrendered the Big Ten lead that it had built after starting conference play 9-0. Now they head to the Land of Lincoln for a rematch with one of the teams they beat during their winning streak, the Illinois Fighting Illini. MSU won the first game, 80-78, thanks in large part by getting Illinois’ leading scorer, Kasparas Jakucionis, into foul trouble, eventually fouling out after just 9 minutes of play.
Can MSU recreate that game plan and nullify the Lithuanian freshman once again? If so, it would go a long way in getting our Spartans back on track and help them stay in the Big Ten race. Vegas does not see it happening though, as they have Illinois favored by 6.5. The over/under is set at 157.5.
The game is scheduled for 8 PM on FOX (not Peacock!)
