Coach Smith slowly building his 2025 class
The Michigan State football program picked up a few new names this past week for the 2025 recruiting class. New Head Coach Jonathan Smith continues to recruit nationally as he adds three offensive pieces to his second incoming class.
First up, from Sandusky, OH, is Braylon Collier, a wide receiver who reeled in 80 catches for 1,164 yards and 18 touchdowns in his junior season. Collier is a three-star recruit who is 6’1” tall and weighs 170 pounds. 247 Sports has him as the 132-ranked receiver for 2025.
Next, from Murrieta Valley, CA, is Drew Nichols, an interior offensive lineman with some size at 6’5” and 270 lbs. Drew is a three-star recruit and is IOL # 96 per 247.
Lastly, MSU picked up another wide receiver, this time in Charles Taplin from Red Oaks, TX. Taplin is another three-star pickup who is WR #134 in 247’s rankings. He is listed as 6’1” and 160 lbs. He doubles as a track star and has run the 400m race in under 50 seconds (that sounds fast).
These three recruits bring MSU’s 2025 class up to 8 members and has them at #53 in 247’s composite rankings.
P.S. Happy Father’s Day to any of you Spartan dads out there.
