The Buffalo Bills have clinched a playoff berth, but they are still jockeying for position in the AFC playoff race. As it stands, the 11-4 Bills are going to be hitting the road in January as the New England Patriots remain atop the AFC East.
Two games are remaining in the regular season, and if Buffalo wants any chance at hosting one final playoff game in Highmark Stadium, they will have to win out.
This week, the Bills will host a fellow playoff team in the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles clinched the NFC East title with last week’s win over the Washington Commanders. But, like Buffalo, they too are looking to improve their seeding.
With so much on the line, Eagles superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown made a bizarre decision just days before the matchup.
A.J. Brown Gets Wisdom Teeth Removed On Wednesday
Of all days in the year to make the executive decision to get your wisdom teeth removed, the Eagles’ leading receiver, playing on a nearly $100 million contract, chose Christmas Eve, three days before traveling to Buffalo, NY, to take on the Bills.
The receiver hasn’t made a statement on the decision, but it was rumored earlier this week that he may be having this procedure.
Yesterday, he confirmed the decision, and today he appeared on the injury report with a bizarre designation.
There is no reason to believe that his dentistry history will keep him on the sideline at Highmark, but high hits will certainly feel a little more tender.
Other Notable Philadelphia Eagles On Injury Report
Offensive tackle Lane Johnson, who is expected to return before the playoffs, still has not suited up for practice. He was a DNP on Wednesday as he continues to heal from a foot injury.
Middle linebacker Nakobe Dean is also still on the sideline. He exited Saturday’s game early with a hamstring injury and is trending towards not playing Sunday. According to defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, his game time availability is “iffy.”
Offensive guard Landon Dickerson, who may be the best player remaining on this Eagles offensive line, also missed Wednesday’s practice with an undisclosed illness.
That makes four key starters who could not be at full strength when they come to Buffalo.
