Former Harvard guard will complete his college career for MSU, take last roster spot
Michigan State has picked up the 15th and final member of its 2025-26 basketball roster. Safe to say that Associate Head Coach Doug Wojcik gets the credit for this recruitment. His son, Denham (pronounced “Denim”, not “Den Ham”), a recent Harvard graduate, is bringing his Ivy League diploma to East Lansing.
Denham represents the fourth player to transfer to Michigan State this offseason, joining Trey Fort, Kaleb Glenn, and Divine Ugochukwu. MSU has announced that Denham will be a walk-on. That said, I am not sure if the children of faculty receive free tuition; my two minutes of research on the matter came up empty.
In addition to being the son of one of the coaches, Denham also has some other familiarity with the MSU program. He has regularly participated in the Moneyball Pro-Am at Holt High School in the offseasons. The cover photo of this article is from the 2022 event.
Denham sat out last season for the Crimson, thus preserving a year of eligibility. In his 64 games over three years of playing for Harvard, the point guard has averaged 1.8 PPG and 1.4 assists. He has started 16 games in his career, though 12 of them were as a freshman.
I think this is clearly a case of a father getting the opportunity to have his son around the program, something Tom Izzo got to enjoy for four years with Steven. It is hard to envision a situation where Denham sees the court outside of garbage time.
Looking at next year’s roster, we have a full three-deep with fifteen players.
PG: Fears, Ugochukwu, Wojcik
SG: Fort, Teng, Sanders
SF: Carr, Glenn, Scott
PF: Kohler, Ward, Walton
C: Cooper, McCullough, Walton
But just for fun, here is a video of Denham’s highlights from high school:
Not sure why the video runs for another minute and a half with nothing on screen at the end.
And it turns out he was a two-sport star:
