With no MSU game this weekend, what are you watching?
It is week 11 of the college football calendar. For the second Saturday this season, Michigan State has a bye week. It is certainly coming at a good time for the Spartans as they have lost their last two, the most recent a blowout at the hands of Indiana. With three games remaining, MSU needs at least two victories to become bowl eligible. Fortunately, the remaining schedule is relatively manageable. In week 12, MSU travels to Illinois to take on the 6-3 Fighting Illini, who will also be coming into that game on a two-game losing streak. After that, the Spartans have home games against the two teams at the bottom of the Big Ten table, 4-4 Rutgers and 1-7 Purdue.
Since there is no Spartan game to occupy our televisions this weekend, I checked what else is on the slate. There are a pair of top-25 games, both coming from SEC country, one of which is essentially a playoff eliminator for whoever loses.
