Day one is in the books for the 2025 NHL Draft. It was a weird one. This new format where all of the GMs are away from the hosting venue is clunky at best. No trades for the Red Wings with this year’s first-round pick. Detroit selects forward Carter Bear with the 13th pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. Bear, who is listed as a left wing, is coming off of a 40-goal season the WHL. Everything I read paints him as a fierce offensive player.
